Day Twenty – #30DaysOfTheWord

Tuesday, October 21

22:40

Jeremiah 37:1 – 38:28, 1 Timothy 6:1-21, Psalm 89:38-52 and Proverbs 25:28

I can’t believe it is Day Twenty already! I must say that this challenge has helped me immensely. I will go into more details when I do a recap on/ after Day Thirty, but suffice to say I am in a much better frame of  mind than when I started, with practical solutions to many of the challenges I faced, unexpected blessings, joy in my heart in spite of my hectic schedule and academic-related fears… in short I am closer than when I first blogged! Haha.

Today I am reminded in 1 Timothy 6:6, that –

“Godliness with contentment is itself true wealth (NLT).”

Verse 9 goes on to say that –

“But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and distraction (NLT).”

I have never been one to lust after money, or make important decisions based on the need (greed) for financial gain. However, tonight I ask myself: in terms of other material things – fame, success, power, etc – am I content? Do I long for these things excessively and am I at risk of becoming trapped by these desires? Food for thought as I tuck myself into bed tonight.

Peace, Love & Godly Contentment,

Dami
