Proust Questionnaire

The Proust Questionnaire supposedly tells a lot about one’s personality. Its name and modern popularity as a form of interview is owed to the responses given by French writer Marcel Proust (pictured above). My affinity for Proust Questionnaires is owed to Nigerian media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo. Here are my answers:

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Laughing without control with someone you love without restraint

What is your greatest fear?

That I will live up to the expectations of others and in the end, displease God and myself

David from the Bible

Which living person do you most admire?

Any cheerful, bountiful giver gets my admiration. The world needs more of them.

My indecisiveness

In a comfy seat: in a car, plane, boat or train – chatting, admiring the landscape and then sleeping. (Can you tell I love journeys?)

Respect for others – in the Nigerian sense of the phrase

Ha! That would be telling.

I have no ‘great regrets’

When and where were you happiest?

I’m happy whenever I’m laughing – that deep, true laugh that comes from hearing a great joke. Where? I was very happy during my 2 years at St Johns College, Johannesburg.

20/20 vision, figuratively.
